Why does a manufacturer of high-quality 35 mm
cameras produce a medium-format scanner? This is
not as strange as it may seem. After all, Minolta’s
first product was a roll-film camera.
The Nifcarette folding camera started the company
in 1926. Minolta was also the first Japanese manu-
facture to make a twin lens reflex (TLR) camera in
1937, the Minolta Flex. We continued to design and
produce medium-format cameras until the mid 60s.
The last TLR released by Minolta was the 1965
Autocord CdS.
